Joel Tshila Kabongo

My name is Joël Tshila Kabongo, and I have recently completed my honours degree at the University of Pretoria, with a bachelor's degree in actuarial sciences. As one may infer from this, I have quite a passion for the world of mathematics and statistics.

From the years 2015-2017, I was the top achiever in pure mathematics and was part of the representive council of leaders (RCLE) as a prefect in my school, Fields College. In addition, I have served as a kids church volunteer at my local church, Growthpoint, as well as a tutor for first year students at the University of Pretoria. These respective positions have helped me function better with a team and have improved my communication skills both within my team as well as with the people I'm serving.

My plans for the near future will involve completing my honours degree in financial engineering and writing my actuarial board exams to earn my certification as an actuary.

I enjoy problem solving, largely due to my passion for mathematics, as well as reading (preferably novels) and programming (mainly Python and R).

I've been working as a Junior Data Scientist at KPI Management solutions for the past 7 months 

I've recently obtained my Honours degree in Financial Engineering, as well as having an Actuarial Sciences degree
