Jason Jaftha

My name is Jason Jaftha, and I just finished my Advance Diploma in Information Communication Technology, majoring in Application Development.

How I have gotten to this point? It all started when I did my Higher Certificate in Information Communication Technology at the College of Cape Town back in the year 2018. Since high school, I love working with technology and at the time, building and troubleshooting computers were like my hobby. So before I did my Higher Certificate, I knew that I wanted to go in the direction of becoming a software developer even though at the time the only coding experience I had was in HTML. 

Fast-forward to today, I have experience in programming languages such as HTML/CSS Java, PHP, SQL, and Angular. And I love being a software developer as it always challenges me, the space is always evolving so I am constantly learning new things, and just the pure joy one gets when developing something that works and can potentially be used by other people.

Job Position: Software Development Engineer Undergrad | (Internship)

My duties consisted of:

• Implement REST services within the backend legacy application using Java.
• Refactor code when needed to accommodate the implementation of Rest services within the backend legacy application.
• Implement graphical user interfaces and REST services within the front-end WEB-UI application using Angular.
• Write unit tests for REST services, within the backend legacy application and front-end WEB-UI application. 
• Worked within an agile environment.
