Ilze Swanepoel

The applicant has been working in the field of Substance Use Disorser (SUD) for 12 years. She completed International accredited courses on the Colombo Treatment Plan (ICAP I and II) and is thereby an International certified addiction professional in the treatment of SUD. 

The applicant has a Master's degree in Social Work (Health care) which was obtained in 2015 and a PhD obtained in 2023. An article was published resulting from her Master's dissertation on the causes of relpase among young African adults. 

Other working experience include supervising Umiversity students doing practicals at her Institution. She also previously served as a member on the research and policy development team of the Institution.

Currently employed at the Department of Social Development, working as a Senior Social Worker at Dr Fabian and Florence Ribeiro Treatment Centre, specialising in the treatment of Substance Use Disorder. The applicant started working at the Institution in April 2011 up to date.

Bachelor of Social Work obtained in 2011.

Master of Social Work (Health care) obtained in 2015.

PhD Social Work obtained in 2023.

(All the above degrees were obtained at the University of Pretoria).

International Certified Addiction Professional - Treatment (ICAP I and II) obtained in  2020 and 2022, respectively.
