I have over 6 years of experience in the chemical manufacturing industry focused on operations of Chlor-alkali derivatives production plants (Ferric Chloride and Chlorinated Paraffin). I have strong analytical and problem-solving skills backed up by a chemical engineering background. I have completed a few projects in continuous improvement of the production plant. I’m very enthusiastic to learn.

I have gained over 6 years of experience in the chemical manufacturing industry at NCP Chlorchem, with exposure to diverse production systems that complement my chemical engineering background (BTech graduate).

Currently, as a Senior Process Controller, I am involved in the control room operation of a chlorinated paraffin production plant using Siemens PCS7 system, meeting SHERQ and production targets using lean manufacturing tools. I occasionally act as a Production Supervisor, whereby I arrange staff, compile shift reports, take cost-effective decisions, and communicate with management.

I previously worked as a Process Material Handler responsible for ensuring the quality of raw materials and operating a telescopic boom handler to feed a reactor with steel. During the same time I was elected as a departmental Health and Safety Representative, involved in ensuring a safe working environment by conducting routine safety inspections, participating in hazard identification and risk assessments, incidents root cause investigations, and SHE committee meetings. Therefore, I am quite safety conscious.

My desire to learn offered me the opportunities of job shadowing and briefly acting as a Process Engineer (where I was exposed to various systems such as analyzing SPC charts, production variances, OEE, MOC, FMEA, HAZOP, and I got to complete continuous improvement projects), and as a Production Planner (where I got to plan, prioritize and approve requested work orders using SAP, and liaise with various supporting departments and follow up on task executions).

My highest qualification is a BTech in Chemical Engineering from UNISA.
