I am a hardworking lady with a passion in developing a career in the environmental sector and contribute to making informed decisions for the better management of our environment.  My Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Planning and Development has prepared myself well to gain an understanding in the environmental sector. It has influenced me to have more passion in developing a career in this field and to be part of initiatives towards sustainable development. I am also a registered student at University of South Africa, pursuing my Honours degree in Environmental Management.

I am currently working as a Contractor Environmental Officer with Siyavuya Power Projects. The company has given and continues to give me an opportunity to gain practical experience on what is happening in the field. I have gained more understanding of National Environmental Management Act and how they are implemented in different sections including Environmental Impact Assessment, Waste Management, Compliance and Environmental Education. I have been involved in site inspection processes and writing report on recommendations about specific measures to be taken to work towards achieving sustainability of the environment. I have learnt to deal and work with different stakeholders in ensuring the health and wellbeing of environment is taken care of to take care for us.

• Responsible for monitoring of compliance with Environmental Management Program (EMPr), environmental control of site actions, adjusting of environmental quality of works performed by construction staff, remediation, and rehabilitation of work.
• Liaise with relevant statutory bodies and third-party consultants regarding Environmental matters.
• Prepares daily written inspection reports that provide up-to-date and consistent written, and documentation of activities observed in the field.
• Reports back to the Environmental Control Officer (ECO) through compilation of regular site inspection reports.
• Ensures compliance of construction activities with relevant environmental legislation.
• Maintains the complaints register that is kept on-site.
• Keeps record of all environmental incidents and ensures that corrective action is taken.
• Compiles method statements from the project specific EMPr.
• Environmental awareness training of all staff.
• Work with the site management team, site safety representatives and workforce to manage environmental issues.
• Ensure the management and disposal of waste is managed in a proper manner and documentation is maintained.
• Ensure all accidents are documented and investigated correctly.
• Initiate Environmental Management systems, programs, and plans, and monitor implementation compliances.
