Estelle Razanatsoa

I am an experienced environmental scientist with a strong interdisciplinary background in biodiversity, conservation, and global environmental change. My expertise includes ecological and palaeoecological research, fire management, reforestation, and community engagement, climate change impacts, adaptation and mitigation particularly across Madagascar, the Indian Ocean islands, South Africa, and the Sahara-Sahel region.

I am proficient in both quantitative and qualitative data analysis using R and skilled in field and laboratory methods such as sediment coring, vegetation and species surveys, and socio-economic assessments. My work bridges scientific research with policy, sustainability, and the Sustainable Development Goals, supported by UN/UNEP-certified training and courses.

I have successfully secured research funding and have experience conducting environmental impact assessments and developing simulation models for environmental planning. I also have a strong track record in teaching, supervising students, and managing ecological databases.

I am passionate about science communication and regularly engage with local communities, policymakers, and international audiences to promote evidence-based environmental education and sustainability awareness.
