About Emmanuel Hlambelo:
I have 20 years teaching experience as a Biology (Science) (Chemistry and Mathematics) teacher at both independent and government schools in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Migration to South Africa happened after 7 years of teaching A’ level Biology and Chemistry, and also general science in Zimbabwe. The Zimbabwean curriculum in ZIMSEC in collaboration with Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate. A’ level Biology and Chemistry involved a lot of laboratory work to enrich learners practically. In South Africa I taught Life Sciences and Mathematics at FET level (Grades 10 – 12) to both private and government schools. The South African Curriculum is the NSC (CAPS) Learners in my classes came from both affluent and less affluent families.
Experience
21 years of teaching Life Sciences, Chemistry and Mathematics in both South Africa and Zimbabwe. Teaching Duties and Responsibilities include: Preparing lesson materials, notes, worksheets, classworks and homeworks. Preparing lesson plans according to provided work schedules and annual teaching plans. Setting tests and examinations. Administering informal and formal tasks according to stipulated guidelines. Marking, Recording and keeping record of formal and informal tasks. Infusing ICT in the teaching and learning. Checking learner books regularly. Participating in subject forums and capacity building workshops. Managing classes according to school ethos and values. Communicate with parents and community for the greater good of the learner. Reporting regularly to the Head of Department. Engaging in continuous professional development to gain insights and skills for 21st century eduaction. Participating in school excursions as required. Participating in school sporting activities especially soccer and chess. Acting in loco parentis for the wholistic development of the learner. Participation in school fundraising and marketing activities as required.
