I’m an experienced Procurement professional of >15 years industry experience, aiming to leverage an extensive background and knowledge of multiple procurement skills, principles and software such as Pastel, ERP and MRP packages, to develop a career within procurement and supply. My previous role as Raw Material Strategic Buyer at Royal Canin SA (5yrs) has afforded me opportunities to:

  • Source raw materials from manufacturers and traders both locally and importing from (Europe, Asia, South & North America).
  • Manage the budget and sourcing of a portfolio of >70 supplier, categories varying from essential ingredients, vegetal oils, grains and cereals.
  • Lead site projects group known as “Do It Best”, an efficiency improving to monetary savings.

Summary of Duties:


 Strategic Procurement Leadership

  • Develop and implementation of a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Establishing long-term partnerships with key suppliers to ensure the company’s supply needs are met cost-effectively and with high quality.

Supplier and Contract Management

  • Overseeing the negotiation, drafting, and management of all supplier contracts to ensure favorable terms and compliance with company policies.
  • Evaluating and monitoring supplier performance to ensure they meet the company’s standards for quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and innovation.

Cost Management and Optimization

  • Driving cost-saving initiatives across the procurement function while maintaining quality and service levels.
  • Implementing best practices in procurement to achieve significant cost reductions and operational efficiencies.
  • Monitoring and reporting on procurement performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.

Risk Management

  • Identifying and mitigating risks in the procurement process, including supply chain disruptions, supplier insolvency, and geopolitical risks.
  • Developing contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies to ensure business continuity.

Compliance and Sustainability

  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to procurement.
  • Promoting sustainable procurement practices, including the use of eco-friendly products and ethical sourcing.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Working closely with other departments, such as finance, operations, regional management, to understand their procurement needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Participating in company-wide initiatives and projects that involve procurement-related activities.

Category Management

  • Driving category management excellence, ensuring effective market analysis, supplier selection, and contract management.
