Experience
Asbis Key Account Management & Business Development: Asbis started to focus heavily on the education market due to it increased requirements from 2015 to 2019 with all major educational resellers signed up to distribute Notebooks and Tablets. Secured Van Schaik Bookstore with 80 branches as well as Mr. Price nation-wide.
• Asbis Online Partnership with Takealot & Other Online Marketplaces: Grew the online business with Takealot from a few items in 2018 to 300 items listed today, a revenue exceeding ZAR1m, and Gross Profit of ZAR150k - 200k per month. Currently only deal with Online platforms that offer a Marketplace platform for resellers allowing a 100% control of the product stock levels, pricing, promotions, returns, invoicing, and total account management.
• Asbis Successful Education Tender for University in South African: Won the tender to supply NWU with Prestigio Tablets 4 years in a row. NWU ordered 70 trolleys and donated the trollies of 40 tablets each to various rural schools to introduce technology to underprivileged children. Oversaw the re-merchandising and installation of educational content for the schools. Additionally supplied the same to a few rural schools in Eastern Cape through a reseller in Pretoria and a total of 4000 7” tablets to a Zambian iSchool project for through funders in UK.
• Rectron New Store & Warehouse Project (2007 – 2008): Project Manager for the design and build of 2 new buildings (new store and warehouse) while business continued in the existing store. Worked with a team of engineers from China who built the semi-automated warehouse (featured in IT Reseller Magazine). Coordinated the entire move from the old to the new store and warehouse with little interruption to trade.
• Rectron Dutch Branch Sales & Marketing Turnaround: Assisted Rectron’s brand in the Netherlands with their sales and marketing strategy as company was trading at a loss at that stage. Identified and pursued opportunities in other Europe and countries and built relationships with partners and along with implementing new strategies, the branch showed profits within 6 months and new sales channels to Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK, and Isles.
