Dayle Brookstein

My name is Dayle Brookstein. I am a qualified educator currently completing an Advanced Certificate in Intermediate Phase Teaching. I hold a PGCE in the Senior and FET phases as well as a Master’s degree in Sports Science. I have held leadership roles, including Supervisor for Assistants and Acting Department Head, where I developed skills in team coordination, mentoring, and curriculum oversight. I bring a learner-centred approach, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to educational excellence and holistic learner development.

 I have teaching experience across Grades 4–9, covering English, Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Technology, and Social Sciences. I have also held leadership roles, including Supervisor for Assistants and Acting Department Head

I have extensive experience providing academic support to learners across Grades 4–9, supporting English, Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Technology, and Social Sciences. My background has enabled me to identify learning gaps, differentiate instruction, and implement targeted interventions to support diverse learner needs.

In my teaching roles, I have supported learners through small-group remediation, one-on-one support, scaffolded lessons, and adapted assessment strategies to improve academic outcomes. My training in the Intermediate, Senior, and FET phases allows me to support learners across transition points, particularly in building foundational literacy, numeracy, and study skills.

In addition, my leadership experience as Supervisor for Assistants and Acting Department Head involved overseeing support programmes, mentoring staff, monitoring learner progress, and collaborating with teachers to implement effective intervention strategies. My academic background, including a Master’s degree in Sports Science, has strengthened my ability to analyse data, track progress, and apply evidence-based approaches to learner support.
