I specialise in mangement within the plastic manufacturing, plastic injection-, blow moulding industry, complex mechanical and technical industries as well as a conceptual and product design and project management specialist with a wide and diverse experience base.

My main focus has been managing complex technical projects, managing teams, manufacturing operations, designing and implementing systems, monitoring and managing development, engineering, design, execution of ideas, breakdowns, servicing, logistics, alterations, ancillary manufacturing and problem solving.

A focused, on site, hands on management approach ave been provided at all times.

I joined Bowler Plastics in circa 2005 and was appointed as the Toolroom Manager shortly afterwards. My focus was on improving the structure of the workflow from conceptual design to production and QC.

Apart from the technical aspects, I developed managerial skills to comply with leading a large staff complement; logistics; procurements; project management; reporting; and effectively staying ahead of the curve.

I took over responsibility for a mould repair section, that was not meeting deadlines, and converted the practice of fixing symptomatic breakages to fundamental changes. This brought the efficiencies up and reduced the downtime which enabled the toolroom to focus its efforts on new moulds.

During my time with the company, while developing products that were on the cutting edge of design, I had the opportunity to attend the K-Show in Germany, spent time in Canada and Luxemburg with Husky to better understand the design and implementation philosophy of hot-runner systems and injection mould machine design and manufacturing. I also spent time in Atlantic City, USA to learn about IBM moulding, and assist with the design and commissioning of new machinery and products.

This afforded me the experience to take a design from concept to manufacturing and production globally.

In 2011, I started a technical design, breakdown standby and manufacturing company with a partner, focussed on PET and HDPE blow moulding, to deepen my understanding and knowledge base on a sector vitally important for the future. During this time I also gained knowledge of PET preform injection moulding.

My position of managing director imparted valuable lessons on management of teams, building client relationships and achieving deadlines.

In 2021, I joined a plastic injection, rubber and silicone production company as operations manager, to bolster product diversity, clientele, and lead an ageing company into a challenging present environment following the Covid pandemic.

Having been in the industry for an extended period, and having accumulated a wide variety of skills and experience, I believe that I can now play a vital role in performing in various managing capacities and also mentor and impart knowledge to the next generation of company and team leaders.
