Charlé Stone

Hi! I am a final year LLB student with a passion for people and the law. By doing everything with enthusiasm, I have fully immersed myself into the co-curricular University experience, participating in activities ranging from playing hockey, to serving on a House Committee. This has taught me the value of a balanced lifestyle, having good people skills, and that hard work truly pays off. I have experience in assisting real clients, and have developed practical legal skills. Because of my can-do attitude, I excel in navigating unknown situations. In my spare time I enjoy hiking with friends, reading, and building puzzles. 

• Stellenbosch University Law Clinic (February- current, 2023) 
  • Consulting with clients, file management, drafting, legal research, trial preparation and litigation procedures. 
  • The highlight of this position is being able to assist the economically vulnerable in realising their right to access to justice. 
• Du Plessis & Van Der Westhuizen Attorneys (June, 2021-2023)
  • Have been doing vacation work during the Winter holiday for a week, annually since 2021. 
  • I have been given many responsibilities, such as drafting wills and deed of sale agreements, file management, legal research and assisting at client consultations. 
  • Received training on FICA and POPIA compliance, evictions, divorce proceedings, mediation, maintenance, sale agreements and conveyancing. 
• Onyx Educate (January- December, 2021-2022) 
  • Tutor for various High School Subjects and University Modules. 
  • Hosted structured learning lessons, according to the student’s needs.
  • Made study notes, and developed both study skills and inter-personal communication and explanation skills.
