In my current role within the Online Distribution Department, I have had the privilege of being an integral part of a remote team responsible for supporting an extensive portfolio of over 2000 hotels across the EMEA region in their Online Distribution Strategy. My unwavering energy and data-driven approach have been instrumental in motivating and inspiring team members as we work collaboratively to achieve strategic targets and goals for the African region through my LPA/MBOs (Long-Range Plan/Management by Objectives). A significant aspect of my responsibilities involves crafting a comprehensive online distribution strategy every quarter for the 90+ hotels under my care in Africa. I meticulously tailor each strategy to address the unique needs and challenges of individual properties, ensuring maximum effectiveness. To ensure seamless alignment and garner valuable insights, I maintain close collaboration with the leadership team, including the Revenue Director, Sales Director, and Vice President. Once the distribution strategy receives approval, I take charge of its execution across all the hotel General Managers in Africa. Effective communication is paramount during this stage, as I provide clear guidance and unwavering support, implementing necessary actions to optimize online distribution channels and maximize revenue potential. One of the most gratifying achievements in my professional journey has been the opportunity to travel to several international destinations, including Dubai, London, Amsterdam, Vienna, and Barcelona. During these trips, I represented Booking.com and currently Marriott, showcasing the remarkable achievements of our business in Africa and sharing data-driven insights from various regions. Beyond highlighting successes and accomplishments, I proactively identify potential growth opportunities and improvements for owner groups, hotel chain groups, and VPs of chain groups. In these countries, I have also organized and hosted internal associate workshops, aiming to upskill and empower teams within my discipline. These enriching experiences have significantly contributed to my personal and professional growth, enriching my understanding of the field and fostering a profound sense of confidence when communicating and executing strategies with both my team and external stakeholders.
