Athenkosi Silo

am a vibrant intellectual Social Worker and Educator, I am often characterized by my passion for solving problems and love for other people, especially from disadvantaged backgrounds. Friends and former colleagues have often described me adoringly as an asset to projects and the workplace.

In description of my professional experience I can highlight that everything started when I was a third year social work student at Stellenbosch University. I was appointed as an isiXhosa tutor for first year students in helping them to gain better understand about the content given by the lecturer and also helping them on how to tackle essay writings. I did the tutoring job until I had to graduate in 2019 and when I enrolled for my PGCE in 2020 I had an opportunity to be a student teacher at Bloekombos Secondary school in Kraaifontein. After completing my PGCE, I was appointed as a Junior lecturer in faculty of education at Stellenbosch University on 6 months contract. I was lucky enough to get a job opportunity as a Xhosa teacher at Westerford High School when my contract was about to end at Stellenbosch University, am current teaching FET at Westerford High School.
