Angelo Poyo

Angelo graduated from teacher training colleges in South Africa and has further qualifications in educational and training leadership courses. He has worked in education for the past 27 years with international school experience in Johannesburg. Angelo has taught physical education and now is an aquatics director and an experienced athletic/activities Coordinator. He is passionate about sports and enjoys playing golf, soccer, baseball, swimming and the outdoors. Angelo brings his playing and coaching experience by coaching the Varsity swim team. Angelo is married to Donna, and have two children, Liam (20) and Colm (18). Liam graduated 2021 and Colm completed his final year 2022.

The Certified Athletics Administration courses has allowed me to translate subject matter into real-time experiences. The Aquatics Coordinator acts an administrator, swim instructor, head coach and pool manager. My knowledge and experience in pool maintenance and overseeing the beautiful indoor 25m gala pool and purpose built learn to swim aquatics facility, has been an extremely exploratory and satisfying experience. I have been able to successfully document all related aquatic processes, procedures and guidelines as well as an Emergency Action Plan (EAP) in a user-friendly format for both staff and students. I am keen to work across school divisions, where I will feel comfortable and confident when transferring subject knowledge to both students and staff.
