Role and Summary:

The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for the co-ordination, provision and establishment of quality, efficient care and medical surveillances to client employees that leads to the promotion, protection and restoration of the employee's health within a safe working environment, under administrative direction of the Unit Manager, Clinical Coordinator, Regional Operations Manager and the Occupational Health Medical Practitioner


Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the conducting of the Health Risk Assessment annually
  • Perform Trigger, Transfer and Follow up medicals on request.
  • Facilitates the capture of employee/patient information onto the NOH information system.
  • Conduct monthly internal clinic audits
  • Ensure that all orders placed are within the clinic budget (Monthly medication, and office stationery) as per standard schedule. Order according to approved EDL.
  • Management of stock daily
  • Inform Unit Manager / Clinical Coordinator at least one month in advance of when clinical equipment requires servicing & calibration.
  • Ensure safe handling and keeping of medication according to Medicines and Related Substances Act 101 of 1965 as amended.
  • Continuous education of line managers in respect of the Diversity business case.

  • Project Meeting
  • Maintain and improve personal skills and knowledge levels.
  • Assist in conducting Inservice training to staff and ensure proof available on file and attendance registers.
  • Escalate timeously to Regional Operations Manager incidents or alerts as they occur to avoid penalties.

Education
Essentials

  • Diploma or degree in Nursing
  • Registered with the South African Nursing Council as a General Nurse and/or Occupational Health Nurse specialist.
  • Must have Dispensing License
Preferred

  • Basic Life support
  • HIV/AIDS counselling
  • Basic computer literacy

Work Experience
2-5 years in an Occupational Health environment


Knowledge
Essential - Business industry knowledge

Preferred - Health Sector knowledge


Job Types:
Contract, Full-time

Contract length: 4 months


Salary:
R18, R30,000.00 per month

- primary health care: 3 years (required)
