Description

We are looking for a qualified educator (preferably in mathematics) who can coordinate the project in the Western Cape area. Strong leadership and supervisory skills would be essential and an ability to adapt requirements to ensure that the core focus is maintained in schools where the project is being conducted. A passion for education and community upliftment is required. Own reliable transport and a drivers' licence is a requirement as this role involves travel between schools. This position will suit an individual who can communicate effectively and has the ability to develop good relationships with schools. In addition, a strong reporting ability would be an advantage.

Duties include:


  • Coordination of tutors, mentors and hub assistants
  • Scheduling and monitoring of online coaching sessions
  • Coordination of feedback from mentors and tutors regarding facetoface tutorials
  • Regular communication and coordination with mentors, tutors, teachers and school
- leadership

  • Completion of registers and checklists to ensure operational requirements and aims of the
- programme are met

  • Monitoring of and reporting on programme attendance
  • Chairing meetings with tutors, mentors and hub assistants

Site visits/attendance/management of:

- hub sessions
- tutorials
- schools
- coaching sessions (virtual)

  • Completing QA checklists
  • Coordinating logistics with schools, ground staff, teachers and caterers
  • Coordinating scheduling with tutors, mentors, hub assistants and school
  • Scheduling of observations and coaching sessions
  • Maintaining relationships with all stakeholders
  • Attendance at and assistance with parent info sessions
  • Collection and relaying of quantitative and qualitative feedback regarding programme
implementation, quality and efficacy

  • Weekly reports attendance, usage, risks, issues identified, areas for improvement
  • Chairing weekly review meetings with stakeholders
  • Selection and moderation of suitable digital curriculumaligned Maths activities to be
assigned to learners on the online platform


Requirements:


Education:


  • Bachelors degree (preferred)
  • Teaching qualification is essential
  • English + 1 official SA Language
  • Drivers License with own Vehicle

Experience:


  • Tutoring / Teaching: 2 years (required)
  • Experience working in education in communities Capitec serves
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Teams, interactive software, Learning Management platforms

Additional ADHOC duties (as required):


  • Assist with identification of schools to expand programme
  • Attend and report on Teacher Development programmes
  • Assist in recruitment of tutors, mentors and hub assistants
  • Infrastructure setup
  • Be present during site visits
  • Assist with testing of Wi-Fi
  • Operations and coordination/project management experience
  • Good planning and problem solving skills
  • Flexible hours and able to work on Saturdays
  • Able to travel nationally
  • Passion for teaching and social upliftment
  • Flexible and open to new ways of working
  • Open to continuous professional development
  • Willingness to attend courses and workshops outside working hours for personal and professional development
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation (ideal)
