The Capitec Foundation requires an intern based in the Western Cape to support a learning management system and ultimately implement the required functions from a recently acquired programme. The role is a full time position for an initial period of a year and would ideally suit someone who has graduated with a degree from a recognised tertiary education institution and who has recently entered the job market or does not have too much experience. The position is for an intern who is diligent, creative and a forward thinker and would be willing to learn and train on the system. Copywriting and content development skills as well as strong numeracy skills would be an advantage. This position could suit a newly qualified teacher.

Duties include:

In line with the requirements of an internship, on-the-job training will be provided.

Learn and familiarise yourself with the Learning Management System and work closely with the provider supplied support team; aspects that will be covered under the system are as follows:


  • System Administration:this would be user administration
  • creation and management of users and groups. Role Management
  • create and edit roles and permissions. Platform Management
  • create and edit roles and permissions.

Course Collaboration:ORG Unit Management - course shell creation and content copying. Learning Activities -provide guidance on learning tools. Bulk Course Administration - bulk course copying, editing and uploading and creating templates as needed.

Product Knowledge:Familiarise yourself on how to provide administrative guidance and implement learning activities. Learn outlines for best practices and provide feedback to team members. Use the reporting tools to deliver feedback and guidance on data access.

Management:ensure that all processes are approved and correctly tracked and provide data on history.

  • Scrutinise and upload Org units with required and approved content.
  • Ability to provide troubleshooting support on the system to teams within the Organisation.
  • Putting the structure in place in order to accommodate the course efficiently as well as test the course to ensure that it is working properly.
  • Monitor the development of the course and report back to management on progress.
  • Attendance at and assistance with any information sessions
  • Collection and relaying of quantitative and qualitative feedback regarding the Management System.
  • Report to management regularly on the progress of usage and implementation of the Learning Management System.
  • Observe and ultimately transfer the System to an inhouse function.
  • Must have good attention to detail and good planning and problem solving skills.
  • Work must be delivered within a quick turnaround time.
  • Be able to work flexible hours if necessary.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and multi task.
  • The intern should be able to work independently.
  • Willingness to attend courses and workshops outside working hours for personal and professional development.
Working hours will be 08h00 until 17h00 with an hour for lunch, Monday to Friday. There may be a requirement to work on a Saturday on notification by management. Salary for the intern position will be discussed at the interview.
