Role purpose


The eCommerce Order Fulfilment Trainer is responsible for providing comprehensive job training and refresher training to the order fulfilment team within a large retail corporate.

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that the team is well-versed in standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.

The trainer will create and maintain training schedules, develop training materials, execute training sessions, adapt training based on quality assurance (QA) feedback, and create ad hoc training materials to address controller-specific needs.


Role description

Training Program Design:


  • Develop training programs and materials for new hire onboarding, process changes, and ongoing skills development.
  • Design and update training modules, manuals, presentations, and other training resources.
  • Ensure the Support Center is informed of all new SOP's and changes to existing SOP's.

Training Delivery:


  • Conduct engaging and informative training sessions for order fulfilment team members, both inperson and through virtual platforms.
  • Facilitate handson training activities, simulations, and roleplays to reinforce learning.

Training Evaluation and Assessment:


  • Develop and implement assessment methods to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and provide feedback to trainees to ensure continuous improvement.

Process Improvement:


  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in process enhancement projects to optimize order fulfilment operations.

Documentation and Reporting:


  • Create and maintain a training schedule for the Order Fulfilment Centre (OFC) team.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials to ensure consistent training delivery.
  • Maintain accurate training records, attendance, and performance metrics.
  • Prepare comprehensive training reports and dashboards for management review.

Stay Updated:


  • Keep up to date with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements related to eCommerce order fulfilment.
  • Continuously enhance personal knowledge and skills to deliver highquality training programs.
  • Adapt training programs based on Quality Assurance (QA) feedback received from controllers.
  • Create ad hoc training materials to address specific needs identified by controllers.

Qualifications and experience

  • National Diploma and Advanced Certificates
    (NQF6) / Bachelor's degree, Advanced Diplomas, Post Graduate Certificate, and Btech
    (NQF7) in a relevant discipline.
  • 25 years of relevant experience in eCommerce order fulfilment or related field.
  • Knowledge and understanding of order fulfillment, supply chain, and logistics processes within an eCommerce retail operation.
