Primary responsibilities

  • Perform technical coding using MSSQL and other languages, that:
  • Follows Traderoot coding standards, for example camel case and spacing
  • Is readable to other developers
  • Is DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself)
  • Is SOLID (single responsibility, open/closed principle, Liskov substitution, interface segregation, dependency inversion)
  • Is optimised and stable
  • Follow the Traderoot SDLC:
  • Use Gitlab correctly, following the Traderoot processes for creating merge requests, backporting and forwardporting.
  • Keep their Redmine TTS queue up to date.
  • Deliver within deadlines and without errors:
  • Define realistic milestones and communicate if these milestones cannot be reached.
- provide accurate estimates for scheduling purposes.

  • Keep scheduling commitments.
  • Deliver bugfree code to the Validators, to prevent time being lost due to delivering poor quality or broken code.
  • Maintain their development environment:
  • Ensure that their local development environment, including VMs, is kept uptodate and operational for all development and unit testing.
  • Ensure that their environment is for the most part selfsufficient and not reliant on others' environments.
  • Use the TEP:
  • Understand and use the components that the product is built from.
  • Create and deploy installations using the Configuration Manager.
  • Use the Management Console.
  • Interpret log files correctly.
  • Actively acquire and maintain a working knowledge of the Traderoot products and the industry in which they are used.
  • Understand how the TEP is used by Traderoot clients, and be able to reason whether the Traderoot Engineering solution will be able to meet their requirements.
  • Participate in designing solutions and writing design notes for new projects and incidents.
  • Work proactively within the Traderoot Engineering team, particularly in the following ways:
  • Work with the Engineering, Support and Project Management teams.
  • Help with investigations when issues arise, including production issues.
  • Create a healthy, positive atmosphere of cooperation between departments and teams.
  • Provide clear and legible documentation, including user guides, configuration guides and readmes.

R12 000,00 - R18 000,00 per month
