Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing mechanical services and support in the assigned area through the effective corrective and preventative maintenance on the equipment and machinery thereby ensuring reliable and efficient operation of a well-maintained plant.

• Red Seal Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter with N
• N6
• A minimum of 5 years' post trade experience within an FMCG environment. 10 years' experience will be an advantage.
• Sound knowledge of mechanical machinery operation and maintenance.
• Sound knowledge of transformers, vacuum pumps, rotors and ovens
• Ability to analyse faults, strips and reassemble machines without supervision.

• Assertive and results orientated.
• Technically minded, able to trouble shooting and present solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and work well in a team dynamic
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to handle pressure whilst maintaining a high work rate.
• Lean Manufacturing experience will be an advantage.

• Inspects and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
• Dismantles machines, equipment and devices to access, remove and repair or replace defective parts.
• Reassemble equipment and machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
• Performs routine maintenance such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, and doing other preventive maintenance actions.
• Diagnoses mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
• Check all completed works and verify that the repaired equipment is operational and ready to use.
• Prepares reports and provide Supervisor with the required records and paperwork of all completed jobs.
• Monitors the progress of planned maintenance programs or repair works assigned and strictly adhere to them.
• Ensures compliance in accordance with Company policies and procedures, Health and Safety standard and housekeeping standards.
