A vacant position needs to be filled for the position of Production Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for:1.
Execution of production Plan and control
- Ensure that the daily production plan is received timeously from the production manager and daily production targets are met
- Ensure that all raw materials required for production for all shifts are available before the end of each shift, including packaging
- Ensure that start up time is adhered to
Process Control
- Oversee the production process and make sure everything is done according to standard operating procedure
- Ensure hygienic handling of products and clean as you go is done timeously
- Participate in trouble shooting sessions
- Ensure correct batching of product before it is dispatched
- Implement measures to minimise shrinkage
- Report all nonconformances concerning deviation in PRP's timeously to the Quality Controller
- Ensure that production sheets are completed timeously
- Ensuring all food safety PRP's (department specific) are adhered to by all employees in the work area e.g., personnel hygiene (hand washing, PPE correctly worn), process control (temperatures), pest control, cleaning and sanitation, clean as you go, foreign body control
Equipment Maintenance
- Reporting maintenance needs for the department to the Production Manager
- Ensure that machinery and equipment in the room is used and maintained as per manufacturer's instructions
Supervise employees
- Report all employee queries to the Production Manager
- Ensure that employees are trained to perform their duties
- Ensure that all employees are trained and aware of health and safety issues
- Supervising employee working hours to minimise waste
- Coordinate employee leave in the department
- Ensure all employees are well versed with company policies and procedures
- Ensure that employees are positioned as per production requirements
- Check daily clocking to ensure correct time keeping by employees
- Ensure adherence to tea and lunch break times
- Follow correct procedures with regard to all disciplinary incidents
- Performance management of employees

Requirements:
Ø A proven working experience as a production supervisor
Ø Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff
Ø Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Ø Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
Ø A degree in Food Science and Technology/ equivalent or equival
