Debtors Clerk (ideally from a logistics background) Kempton Park based.

Our client is seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Debtors Clerk.

As a debtors clerk, you will be responsible for managing customer accounts and ensuring timely and accurate billing and collections.


Responsibilities:


  • Monitor customer accounts and ensure all invoices are generated accurately and on time
  • Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve any billing discrepancies or disputes
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to customers
  • Prepare and distribute monthly statements to customers
  • Reconcile customer accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve any variances or discrepancies
  • Work closely with the finance team to analyze overdue accounts and implement collection strategies
  • Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries and resolving any issues related to billing or collections

Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a Debtors Clerk and doing general finance duties in the freight forwarding industry (5 years) ideal but not essential.
  • Proficiency in using Pastel accounting software
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadline


The role will also have the responsibility to cover for the Finance and Administration Controller whilst he/ she is on leave.

For this on the job training (predominantly cashbook capturing and supplier reconciliations) will be given.
