The Appointed pharmacists' role is to provide overall coordination of the pharmaceutical services with a particular focus on TB and adjuvant medicines.

The DP will work closely with the District Pharmacist and report directly to the Project/ Programme Manager at the District level.

This position requires a good understanding of the medicine quantification, procurement, and supply chain management systems to ensure reliable procurement, storage, control, forecasting and distribution of quality responsible for contributing to the smooth running and operations of the Pharmacy according to SAPC GPP and GCP Standards.

Education

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree (B.Pharm)
  • Registration with SA Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist
  • Proof of current registration with SAPC

Advantageous

  • GCP certificate
  • Postgraduate degree in Clinical Pharmacy
  • Relevant experience with SA DOH pharmacy systems.e.g. Synch
  • Fluent in English. Fluency in local languages

Experience

  • A minimum of 35 years' experience as a pharmacist after registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
  • Relevant experience in hospital pharmacy, retail sector, and NGO environment
  • Management or supervisory experience
  • An Understanding of HIV/AIDS and TB

Requirements:


  • Willing to travel and do work after normal working hours.
  • Valid driver's license and own car
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, and routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics.
  • Good writing and presentation skills
  • SA Citizen or valid work permit to work in South Africa
  • Innovative thinking, problem solving, initiative, and leadership qualities
  • Ability to work with the multidisciplinary team.
