As a Professional Cookery Facilitator, you will play a vital role in molding the next generation of culinary maestros.


Responsibilities:


  • Conducting immersive and theoretical classes on advanced cookery techniques encompassing ingredient preparation, cooking methodologies, and artistic plating.
  • Crafting and delivering captivating lessons that align with the curriculum and industry benchmarks.
  • Providing comprehensive guidance and support to students, nurturing their culinary prowess, and fostering their passion for the gastronomic arts.
  • Demonstrating and supervising impeccable culinary skills, emphasizing stringent adherence to safety, hygiene, and culinary excellence.
  • Assisting in the development of course materials, including meticulously planned lesson blueprints, assignments, and assessments.
  • Evaluating student performance and offering constructive feedback to facilitate their growth and mastery.
  • Remaining at the forefront of industry trends, culinary innovations, and emerging techniques to infuse the curriculum with cuttingedge knowledge.
  • Collaborating seamlessly with fellow faculty members to ensure a seamless and comprehensive culinary program.
  • Actively participating in faculty meetings, professional development initiatives, and institute events as mandated.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possession of an NQF Level 5 or higher qualification in Professional Cookery/Hospitality Industry.
  • Teaching/facilitation certification.
  • SACE registration/cookery professional body affiliation.
  • Proficiency in conducting assessments, with formal assessor training and prior assessing experience.
  • Proficiency in crafting Portfolios of Evidence (POEs) and adeptness in learning evidence collection.
  • A minimum of 3 years of handson, occupational experience in the culinary realm.
  • CATHSSETA registration is an added advantage.
  • Moderator certification is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the vibrant hospitality industry.

Job Type:
Contract

Contract length: 6 months


Salary:
R18,500.00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Sophiatown, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:


  • Diploma (preferred)

Experience:

- occupational experience in the culinary realm: 3 years (preferred)


License/Certification:

  • Assessor Registration (preferred)
