    Description

    A client that specializes in short-term insurance, covering Personal, Commercial, and niche sectors, is looking for a BUSINESS ANALYST.

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    • Job Title: Business Analyst
    • Job Type: Permanent, On-site
    • Job Location: Bedfordview, Johannesburg

    PURPOSE OF POSITION:

    The Business Analyst plays a crucial role in enhancing processes, products, services, and systems through data analysis. This role acts as a bridge between IT and the business to boost efficiency.

    The Business Analyst comprehends business requirements and ideas, communicating them effectively within both the business and IT realms, balancing technological feasibility with financial and functional rationality.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Relevant B Degree in Computer Science and/or Engineering
    • Project Management experience (PMBOK, Prince II, Agile)
    • Proven track record of both theoretical and practical aspects of Business Analysis
    • IIBA Certification
    • Experience in project management techniques and tools
    • Direct work experience in Business Analysis (10+ years)
    • Proven experience in team collaboration, influencing, strategic planning, risk management, and change management
    • Proficient in process tools e.g. Visio, Aris, etc.
    • Experience with insurer and broker systems e.g. System A, Brolink, CIMS, etc.
    • Demonstrable experience in enhancing systems, processes, and workflows

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Manages applications that integrate across business areas
    • Responsible for investigating, analyzing, and documenting business functions and processes across applications
    • Identifies and addresses business needs efficiently
    • Acts as a liaison between business and IT development teams
    • Evaluates and documents business architecture, conducts feasibility studies, writes proposals, and creates functional requirements
    • Comprehensively documents Test Plans and coordinates testing efforts
    • Documents implementation plans and ensures successful execution
    • Conducts post-implementation reviews
    • Performs detailed business analysis, problem-solving, budgeting, forecasting, planning, monitoring, variance analysis, pricing, and reporting
    • Defines business requirements, conducts risk assessments, and provides process documentation and operating instructions
    • Performs testing activities, including UAT coordination and full application testing
    • Possesses strong communication, interpersonal, consultative, and facilitation skills
    • Demonstrates analytical thinking, organizational skills, and attention to detail
    • Understands business structure, conducts stakeholder analysis, requirements engineering, and costs benefit analysis
    • Models processes and possesses knowledge of networks, databases, and technology
