Requirements:


  • Degree in Environmental Science/Waste Management.
  • Registration with relevant registration authority will be added advantage
  • Minimum 4 years' relevant experience.
  • A valid Code B driver's License.
  • Must be available to address issues after hours or on weekends.

Job summary:


  • Responsible for the supervision of all waste collection program activities.
  • Responsible for the supervision, promotion and implementation of all recycling program activities.
  • Responsible for planning of daily work schedules and timekeeping of work crews.
  • Responsible for optimizing collection routes and ensuring full utilization of manpower and equipment.
  • Responsible to ensure a healthy and safe work environment in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Responsible for completing and submitting injury investigation/workplace health & safety/University equipment/property damage/hired equipment reports and ensuring daily equipment maintenance is performed and coordinate preventative maintenance with Manager waste management.
  • Assist in preparation of departmental budget and provide recommendations for capital expenditures.
  • Create, revise and implement Standard Operating Procedures for the department.
  • Other duties as assigned
