Role purpose:


Responsible for Leading the account managers as well as driving critical Channel projects to achieve key mobile objectives and KPI's across the dedicated partner base, focussing mainly on the retail channel, maintain the partner relationships and ensure retail stores drive Vodacom business strategic pillars.

The Regional Manager drives the Vodacom business strategy and the penetration and sale of business products and solutions with Gauteng retail stores as well as the strategic development and growth of the retail channel for Vodacom Business.

This includes development of strategies in order to meet and exceed annual sales targets for retail and key mobile KPI's, management and motivation of the partner account team, performance management of stores and driving key projects to grow business in retail and grow partners to sell the widest possible range of business products and solutions from Vodacom Business.

The Regional Manager will mainly focus on driving Vodacom Business sales within the Gauteng retail stores to ensure success of business in retail.


Your responsibilities will include:


Deliver sales, revenue and key KPI's against detailed budget for retail:
To deliver on key sales KPI's - mobile activations, revenue, churn, upgrades, simple fixed connectivity and in contract KPI's in order to achieve and exceed the detailed budget for the year
To advise and assist in budget planning & forecasts cycles for each quarter and the new financial year


Design, develop and execute operational sales plan for retail stores:

Clearly define and develop the detailed sales strategy for business in retail for GP and nationally, outlining the ideal blue print for success within retail stores, to ensure that all the sales objectives can be achieved within the retail channel.

Constantly evaluate the strategy to determine effectiveness
Manage the day-to-day activities of the sales team and retail stores, lead the team and keeping track of the main objectives to achieve overall sales targets, KPI's and strategic channel goals
Drive the key strategic goals of the retail channel across the partner base, in GP and nationally
Maintain and grow partner relationships with the partner base for retail channel

Leadership and teamwork:
Work together with the sales team and other managers to develop action plans and ensure strategies are executed upon


Business in Retail Focus
Drive the further development of our Business in Retail
Develop a strategy and execute on the strategy to drive sales of Vodacom business products across franchise and dealer stores across all Regions
Drive convergence and the sale of simple fixed products within the retail stores


Must have technical / professional qualifications:
Matric with a minimum of 5 years' experience in sales, and partner management and/or account management
Experience in strategic planning and driving strategic intent
A qualification in Sales, marketing or commercial (B. Com/Business Science Degree or Equivalent qualification) with at least 6 years sales experience


Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

Clear understanding and experience of retail, and specifically business in retail
Clear understanding and experience in mobile sales, and corporate sales
Knowledge related to the Telecommunications Industry and specifically Mobile and Mobile sales
Proven track record in managing business partners and driving sales with partners
Understanding of business landscape and various business segments
Experience in leading a sales team
