Reflections of myself in the big pool

Reflections of myself in the big pool

3955bde1.jpg

I have no idea why I’ve decided to write this. Yes, there is the prompt which emerges from moments of self-reflection within a greater dynamic. And that I suppose translates into a hunch and then an emotion and finally a concrete thought. And the thought may be static and dissipate into the ether (with respectful reference to the post of Ali Anani) . Or it becomes the source of dynamic action which translates into innovation.

I have a pretty good idea of what I’m all about. I’m passionate about all things related to consciousness; I’m curious about what makes us tick, where we came from and where we’re possibly going to. And yet I suppose I’m an ‘expert’ since I was trained in the neurosciences and practice as a neurosurgeon. But that’s a mold, my external signature. More authentically I’m an explorer of consciousness, driven to seek anywhere and everywhere. I respect no man-made boundaries nor conventional silo’s in my quest. I do not fear being labelled as different or being a maverick.

I resonate best with non-experts, seeking similar answers in many different places. I derive personal gratification through interacting with such people – explorers, each unique in his/her own space, fleshing out gems from their corner and contributing this to the collective. This value contribution has been particularly remarkable on beBee where so many contribute so much value to the conversation. But probably due to my own shortcomings – too scientifically/logically molded I have difficulty engaging with and savouring the more subtle prose which I know intuitively are pregnant with the essences of life (Did I really just write this?).

But on the note of value contribution, I truly believe that I have said all that I can/wish to say at this time. I feel that I’m falling out of step with an evolving collective and organic process unfolding on beBee. I feel less and less part of the conversation. I note that my engagement is progressively more passive, reflecting on new posts in the context of my own world view, which has now entered a more static space – possibly too rigid in personal belief/limiting belief. I know that I need to chill and allow the subtle essences of life to inspire me to engage in a new space.

And so until I move into a new resonant space, I pull back on my engagement with beBee and the other social media. My articles and posts remain as my personal heritage. I aspire to return at some later stage with new sensitivities for engagement with you great folk out there. Thus evolves the existential cycle of life.

Post-script: So fortuitous that I bow out having just read the wonderful poem 'The Ruin of Dreams', by Devesh Bhatt. So topical, so true, so inspiring.
