Me Promote BeBee?

Me Promote BeBee?

Me Promote BeBee?

GERT SCHOLTZ

I never considered myself to be a marketing person. That is until I joined BeBee. A few months after becoming a member, I was named as one of the ambassadors. Oh Boy! How am I going to promote BeBee?

Frantically I thought back to what I remember from university in Marketing 101. Aha! The four P’s – Price, Product, Promotion and Place. After deep and anguished consideration I realized this is much too long a list and too sophisticated for a numbers person like me, so I whittled it down to my own two P’s: People and Platform.

Much to my surprise, I found there are few things I like as much as just that - giving others exposure, and accentuating the good qualities of BeBee. I enjoy researching before I write, and the platform is a growing collection of valuable information on know-how, people and places.

A disclaimer: my background is finance and banking – promotion of any kind is far from my natural inclination. What I consider as obtained knowledge, could well be basic to those who have been in the game for long.

Having said that, here is what I find are important elements in promoting BeBee.

People like to be noticed for their unique contributions. Show it. I stress the word “unique”. As best I can, when I promote others I look for talents and contributions which are specific to the person. Their personal insight and experience. Don’t we all like to be seen for the individual we are? Super BeBee Commentators

BeBee Producer posts are a treasure chest of personal information. Mine it. When you view someone’s blogs on their profile, their insight and a lot of who they are is reflected in their posts over time. A few minutes’ reading and one might well know more about the person than their next door neighbor. Juan Imaz: Be Humble, Learn, Change and Grow

The culture of beBee is unique; it is a global village. Describe it. It is not LinkedIn, it is not Twitter, it is not Medium, it is not Facebook. BeBee is a grouping of diverse people from all over the world. Different individuals, with a willingness to contribute, learn and exchange views and perspectives. Cheers to Canucks!

BeBee Producer is great for bloggers and writers. Say it. Often said, and said again: the best thing about beBee is that your posts go to all your followers, every time. BeBee Producer is easy to use, and posts can be shared to a number of other platforms. What more could a blogger want? Blogging on BeBee - A Few Useful Tools

You never really know what people will find interesting. Post it. I knew nothing about SEO (I still know nothing) so I searched the web to find out more, and wrote what I thought was knowledge so basic, it is not worthy of publishing. Eventually I did though and I am glad others found it relevant. Google Likes BeBee

It might be worth the while highlighting the obvious. State it. Sometimes, I miss what is right before my eyes. And when I eventually do see it – it has more promotion value than expected. There are many numbers and statistics that can be taken from the BeBee pages. Just put it together. The Buzz is Growing

Do I have a marketing recipe? Yes.

Joyce \ud83d\udc1d Bowen Brand Ambassador @ beBee Your comment is so well worded, I wish to repeat it: "Many times things people share can cause one to scratch their heads with understanding. What has been experienced by one has been experienced by many. We weave our way through solutions, and many times those solutions can emerge through the similar experiences of others. " Thank you very much.

As for the quote, as I have intimated many times in my travels as a psychologist, we (I) are not unique. Many times things people share can cause one to scratch their heads with understanding. What has been experienced by one has been experienced by many. We weave our way through solutions, and many times those solutions can emerge through the similar experiences of others. We are, essentially, a team. My goal in many of my posts is to cause folks to know more about themselves.

Dear Gert, although you said that promotion of any kind is far from your natural inclination, this post proves the opposite. :-) We, who love being on this platform, are all promotors of beBee in one way or another. You did a great job and still do, in promoting the people of this platform and platform itself. People always come first.

Two P’s or not two P’s? That is the question. It appears, Gert, that you have found the answer, by showcasing the work of yourself and others. Long may you publish and prosper.
