Integrating the Silo's of Self-interest

Value derived from meaning and understanding is context-based. Unfortunately we live in an age characterized by individual silo’s of interest which invariably represent our entire subjective world view. The mind state which emerges from this situation is one characterized by the need to defend one’s turf at all costs, taking a judgmental view of all other silo’s (which are generally deleted or distorted to fit into one's own subjective silo). The result is that ‘truths’ that are validated within a given silo lose their universal authenticity when viewed in the context of multiple and potentially overlapping silo’s of interest. As an example, geneticists study all the dynamics pertaining to gene expression and suppression thus generating validity for the process within the genetics silo. However psychoneuro-immunologists have demonstrated the effects that mind states have on these epigenetic processes via inflammatory mediators. Neither silo has fully appreciated the contribution that the other has made in arriving at a potentially more comprehensive understanding of the subject. Without incorporating all components of the subject as validated within seemingly unrelated silo's of interest, authentic validation is eluded. 

And so clearly, to arrive at a more authentic perspective of validity we require integration across silo’s of interest, a broadening of the substrate context. This approach however requires a state of mind of mutual respect and non-judgmental curiosity, seeking to create a more authentic collective understanding as an outcome. It is the antithesis of the judgmental self-interest, so prevalent in the current global media, most notably in the social media.
