Honey Five-0

40236b70.jpg

I logged onto this new orange platform from Spain and submitted my first Producer article. Then left it. Later in the day I was surprised to find comments, “relevants” and a welcome from non other than CEO Javier beBee. I became a Bee. I was hooked from the start.

A few months on and I recently published my fiftieth Producer post on beBee. It is the most enjoyable writing experience I have ever had.  By sharing interests through posts, what better way is there to connect with others all across the globe? The community here and the diverse individuals make for an incredibly enriching experience. True to the affinity precept of this platform, our writing reveals who we are.

Sitting on the beach the other day I was thinking how writing pieces seem to be like waves. Sometimes they follow in rapid succession. At times the ocean barely rises. Each wave unfolds and breaks differently. Some we ride and enjoy. Others we let go by. Big waves, small waves, blue waves and this, my Honey Five-O wave, to you.

Looking back I consider the following to be my best beBee posts based on how much I learned and enjoyed compiling it, and from the engagement on the pieces.

Why I Write.

https://www.bebee.com/producer/@gert-scholtz/why-i-write

My posts in total add up to around thirty five thousand words, which is approximately a third of a full length book or novel. A published book would probably go through at least one further redraft. Social media publishing has the benefit of immediate feedback and interaction between reader and writer. Book writing is a long, solitary quest. So to all the published writers on beBee: respect!

Feeds on beBee are becoming quicker all the time, and I am not immune to the human tendency to want to go to the latest and freshest posts. Many excellent and timeless pieces are forgotten soon after publication. Perhaps every six months beBee can compile the fifty best posts for that period as voted by Bees, in a long form post or a pdf document? The Best of BeBee Buzz?

I look forward to a continued writing experience on beBee and end off: Thank you to Javier beBee, Juan Imaz and their team for creating this incredible social and blogging platform. Thank you to all the writers on beBee. To mention a few I would be leaving out the many. I learn from all. Thank you to all Bees that have read, commented, marked relevant and shared my posts.

Your engagement is my enjoyment.

PS: Yes, I always watch Hawaii Five-O.

I don't know what to tell you Gerald Hecht, except it was the cookie someone gave me in Washington State. And then I started singing "I'm so excited, I just can't hide it." What got into me?!

Nice Gert Scholtz! I think I've produced 56-57 since I joined in April of 2016. You wrote, "Each wave unfolds and breaks differently" I find this to be very true. There are times my mind is on a roll and at other times it's too scattered and it would show in my writing. It probably does at times anyhow ;-) Congrats on all your buzzes which are very buzz-worthy!!

Gert Scholtz What a cool buzz and its my sentiments exactly. Just returned for a trip to Sri lanka and already my fingers are itching to bash out a buzz!!!

I would love to surf all your waves, Gert, but as you say, the feeds are coming quicker all the time and they often disappear after about 24 hours. Congratulations on your half century and also thanks to Kevin Pashuk, are the variety of straight forward, honest to goodness story telling they portray, along with a personal infusion of character; without the BS, posturing, condescension and politics often found elsewhere. Here's to the next half century!

Hey Gert-sensei! Congrats. I'm going to have to look through them to see if there were any I missed. I love your writings and it's great to be part of a small group of writers here, like you, Ken Boddie, Pascal Derrien, Paul Walters, Gerald Hecht, City VP Manjit and others who are not in the business of dishing out advice. I hope this group grows as it represents authenticity at it's best.
Thanks Gert Scholtz for your support !

Not quite finished with this buzz Gert, because it has ignited other neurons in my head which now is fermenting another paradox wisdom. The essence of which is the difference between a place where one can evolve more than simply another place where we can plug & play. Will link to this when it is completed today.

Gert, I was for decades a fan of the original Hawaii 50, starring Jack Lord. I watched in the original, then later in late night re-runs -- ironically because it never failed to put me to sleep in about 15 minutes. Whether there are any parallels to be drawn with beBee Honey, I leave to others to judge. :-) But I can say that your writing is stimulating, not soporific. And you proposal to syndicate re-runs is a master stroke. Cheers!

What a lovely testimonial to beBee. When it comes to the brass tacks, this for me is where you wrote "True to the affinity precept of this platform, our writing reveals who we are." That represents, above all, why I like being here at beBee, because IMHO our home for learning is actually us and our own words. What beBee then becomes, for me, is a hub for the spokes of that learning that extend here, there and everywhere. Gert Scholtz is the home of the learning of Gert Scholtz - but together we are a new kind of village - that we may actually end up seeing a global village with a positive connotation - because when Marshall McLuhan coined the term "global village", it was a skeptical view of how the electronic age needs to be understood [because it can become an extension of our nervous system]. I honour that skeptical view but that does not mean that it is my own defacto reality - it is simply a wisdom that evolves rather than is cobbled. This buzz is a milestone moment and this is why I prefer celebrations which are not time-bound and social, but primarily highly individual and meaningful to the experiencer of them. For sure there is still social interaction in this, but it is interaction as unique as our DNA and not simply an annual ritualistic movement that ends up repeating itself like the movie Groundhog Day. This is a kind of serious play in our own honeycombs - that when added together make a metaphorical human hive - rather than a hive mind which is depicted by Star Trek characterizations like "The Borg". We are human bee's where the "bee" is the evolving brand power of beBee. Our blood is red, our flow is orange.
Everything you say is true, and even more so. I read a buzz from a lost bee in a valley, far away. It gives an idea to write a buzz of yours, because, you have a lot of intelligence, you look for information and you get 3 more. Conclusion, as the Greek philosopher, I only know, that I know nothing, but I keep trying. Thanks to the invention of Juan Imaz
