Coffee Questions?

Coffee Questions?

5be2358d.jpg

Sometimes we cross the cyber-divide and meet with other Bees in person.

There have been get-togethers between the Canadians, a few buzzes mentioned personal meetings in the USA, Madrid is a hive of Spanish gatherings regularly posted on BeBee, and down in South Africa I have the pleasure of meeting Ian Weinberg over a coffee from time to time.

Face to face conversations are great for getting to know another person better, exchanging views and exploring ideas. Especially when discussing more open-ended topics and questions. Which had me thinking, if I were to meet other Bees in person, here are some of the questions I would like to ask them:

Randall Burns What adventure travels would you undertake if you could do anything?

Randall Burns How do you see the overlap and divide between critical and creative thinking?

Lada 🏡 Prkic What can you tell about your younger years and about growing up in Serbia?

Phil Friedman Where do you get the ideas for your very original posts?

Ken Boddie If you could travel to any place for a photographic tour, where would it be?

Lada 🏡 Prkic If you were to name your greatest five music lyricists, who are they?

Renée 🐝 Cormier What is your best advice to everyone that consults to businesses?

Pascal Derrien India has a culture and history of dance. Please tell me more.

CityVP 🐝 Manjit Where did you get the good idea of your learning hives on BeBee?

Ken Boddie Will we ever see you commenting and posting on BeBee again?

Debasish Majumder Where does your inspiration for poetry come from?

Jim Murray What motorcycle and which route would you choose for a 1000-mile trip?

Harley King What are the three best fiction books you have ever read, and why?

Renée 🐝 Cormier Please tell about how you write and blog, and plan your time for doing so.

Ali 🐝 Anani, Brand Ambassador @beBee Are there ways to expand one’s creative thinking ability?

Savvy Raj Wat mis jy van Suid-Afrika terwyl jy oorsee woon?

🐝 Fatima G. Williams What do you look for when you receive the CV of a job applicant?

CityVP 🐝 Manjit How do track the posts you share in Hive Talk?

Harvey Lloyd What do you see as the essential attitudes or ways of living a good and fulfilling life?

Dean Owen Will there ever be a sequel to Javi vs The Plow?

Javier 🐝 beBee How do you see BeBee changing over the next two years?

These are but a few questions I would find interesting to discuss in person.

There could be many more that come up in a conversation. How about you?

What would you ask other Bees over a coffee?

I think it's an great idea and a great article. I would ask the same question to Franci🐝Eugenia Hoffman, beBee Brand Ambassador.  Not only in Madrid get meetings and devirtualize, have met bees from Valencia, Salamanca, Andalucia, Zaragoza, and bees that move to participate in workshops, lectures and even a musical contest and of course meet the bees that reside in said city. For me that is the most wonderful opportunity, see the face, listen to the voice of that bee with whom you share and drink coffee, tea a meal, while you keep a conversation that no matter how hard you try not to talk about the network, and be interested in the life or work of the other person, in this network is where you have made those wonderful contacts, it is inevitable. How inevitable that if you have downloaded the app your finger slides to the logo from our nice bee, of your smartphone, and comment the post 😊.

Well Gert Scholtz What a question! I have arrived for the "party" late but Great post and fascinating responses from everyone, some I would like to respond to EXCEPT: There is still the glaring issue of missing comments, (about 30 missing from this thread, that's 50%!), it's very hard to carry on a dialogue Javier \ud83d\udc1d beBee Having said that and responding to your query Gert and since you qualify it with "... if you could do anything?"; At the risk of sounding juvenile I would have to respond with an extraterrestrial sojourn, possibly Mars. That would be fascinating. It would be even better as a group tour with all of the Bees that you've mentioned here, never a dull moment with the conversation of such diverse perspectives. ;-) Especially in such an alien circumstance/environment.

Harvey Lloyd Many thanks Harvey. I dropped the question on you as I have read many of your insightful comments on various threads. The way you formulated it makes perfect sense to me in that Fulfillment depends on your Belief system = driven desire to serve others + discernment. So fullfillment in this sense is outward focused to serving others. As a parent I can appreciate your views very well :) Thanks again.

I did want to place one more thought about fulfillment. Fulfillment often times engages us in serving others in a very awkward position. When we engage with peers and assist them with their limiting beliefs that hold them back from that which they seek, the backlash is usually difficult. So if you want to enjoy a fulfilling life your communication skills should be honed to delve into a negative experience in a positive feedback loop.

Gert Scholtz you have really stimulated a broad section of answers to a set of broad questions. But man you dropped a very deep question into my queue. I was hopping to come with a simplified formula much like E=MC2. But that appears to beyond my grasp. I can say a few things to question. Happiness and fulfillment are two very different things, and many great minds beyond my own have pondered this question. Happiness is temporal and usually involves action and resources on your part to engage in a short term activity. Living in the happiness zone is expensive and time consuming as it requires higher and higher levels of participation to get the same effect. Nothing wrong with happiness but without fulfillment it is somewhat a very hollow victory. Happiness found within fulfillment is the antidote to failure as perceived in today's headlines. If i could lay out a formula for fulfillment to happen, it would be: Belief system = driven desire to serve others + Discernment. I find that people really have a metaphysical experience when they engage with others and impact their success. This could be professional, parent or social. In my professional life we practice one degree. What can we do with a student or staff member that would change their perspective one degree towards their success. When we see the effects fulfillment happens. But very often we cant see the effects of our inputs five years from now. I believe fulfillment is best learned through parenting. We experience hard work, discernment and stretch our beliefs while the feedback is something a parent experiences that makes it all worthwhile.
BTW, thanks a lot for this great initiative :-)
Gert Scholtz ! This is our bet : https://www.bebee.com/producer/@javierbebee/bebee-what-s-next-enter-blockchain Professionals typically have their profiles on Linkedin, as well as other professional social networks and job portals. Thanks to blockchain technology and Profede's protocol: ● Professionals will be able to control their own data: They decide who can access their data and which parts of it. ● Professionals will get compensated for the exchange of their data. ● Professionals set their own price and therefore will feel fairly compensated every time a business gets in touch with them. We are really excited about the next beBee using this protocol !! www.profede.com Profede is using blockchain to bypass the intermediaries in the professional world and create a direct connection between professionals and businesses. On the Profede Professional Ecosystem, professionals control their personal data and get paid each time businesses access it to offer them a uniquely targeted job offer, a commercial offer, or a specific business proposal. Profede brings essential value to professionals and businesses by making data valuable and eliminating intermediaries. So , coming back to your question again, I see beBee disrupting the professional world :-) The sky is the limit , we never give up :-)

Gert, Thanks. Reviewed the post. Wow! I can sense the power and the awe it generates from the photos. The one for me is Jackson Hole, Wyoming, at the foot of Jackson Lake looking up to the jagged crags 14,000 feet above. I'll never forget the first time I saw the Grand Tetons. Driving west on a highway that crested and started down into the valley you come around a curve and those peaks soar above the trees. Then it is back under the conifers until you get to the valley and the lake shore. It is like siting a cathedral in the distance that rises higher as you approach. It never pales on me.

If we are not thinking education in this age then what are we thinking? The question that stood out for me is the same one that Nick Mlatchkov noticed Dean Owen Will we ever see you commenting and posting on BeBee again? Ken Boddie, good idea for a post. Unfortunately, any topic including Serbs and Croats is still burdened by politics although the war ended more than 20 years ago. I know it best because I am a mixture of both nationalities, including two more. :-) Nevertheless, you gave me a cue for the next draft.

Julio Angel 🐝Lopez Lopez

Phil Friedman

6 years ago #16

"Phil Friedman How do you see the overlap and divide between critical and creative thinking?" Gert Scholtz, I don't see a clear distinction between them. Creative thinking is not exclusively constituted of free-form illogicality. And Critical thinking often involves discerning new perspectives through which to view and question assumptions and conclusions. Thus, the best critical thinking is also creative, and the best creative thinking does not necessarily turn its back on order and logic. Cheers!

Gert, I would love to meet you in person and having coffee with you. To me, there is nothing better than face to face conversation. But I couldn't answer your question, simply because I wasn't growing up in Serbia. I was born and raised in Croatia. :) Croatia and Serbia are neighbouring countries and were once a part of Yugoslavia. Our fractal friend Milos Djukic is Serbian. If I were to meet other Bees in person, I'm sure that questions and conversation topics would come up spontaneously. I feel like I already know some of my beBee friends all my lives.

Thank you for your mention and above for the great questions you have for many author bees. You have considered your questions carefully. I wonder what questions you would be asked by the respective author bees. My question to you will be "where do you find yourself as an author? ANswering your question is that creativity is a skill that can be learnt. But the person has to be ready by being positive, willingness to adventure in the new places, observant and happy with the unfamiliar and ready to move out of the comfort zone.
