A Grand Tour in a Short Buzz

A Grand Tour in a Short Buzz

.

RON Fe

You can travel South Africa in ten minutes. Through these videos.  For a mostly aerial trip through South Africa, I have selected a few videos for you to enjoy. Total viewing time is a few minutes. Choose one or two and see what scenic beauty South Africa has to offer. Take in, savior, and enjoy.

Drone technology has changed aerial photography. This one shows the wide expanses of the country, a lion from up close, and not for the fainthearted; a thrilling cable ride.  Test Flight SA

If you view only one video from the selection, see this one. It is a most breath-taking fly-over of all that Southern Africa has to offer. From lush wine lands, to the giant baobab tree and arid deserts. Wonder from the Air

One of a series of videos compiled through Google earth. On this one you can see the Union Building designed by Sir Herbert Baker to the exact spot where Nelson Mandela was first arrested.  Historic Spots of SA.

Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. See what the views are from the top of table mountain and even higher. There are snow white beaches and a craggy coastline with overhanging cliffs. Cape Town, o Cape Town!

Should you be interested in a more descriptive tour of the country, here is a travel post of mine on beBee. The extreme diversity of fauna and flora is seldom seen.  Panorama of South Africa

South African English has it's own accents and expressions. "Is it?" shows interest and not skepticism, "Ag shame" is used to show empathy, and then there is the word "Lekker" which is used all round to indicate something enjoyable. Should you ever visit these shores, a tongue in cheek guide to the local vernacular. Howzit!?

Enjoy the viewing and have a good week.

Gorgeous Gert Scholtz. I had no idea how beautiful Africa is until I began seeing photos and now the videos. We are all connected, for some reason those thoughts came to me when I watched the videos. Thanks Gert, for sharing!

Hey, Chef Randy (Randall Burns), I used to swim to pass the time when my kids were in swimming squad, so I can drift along comfortably under normal circumstances, but with a great white homing in, I'm a gold medallist. 😰🦈

Baie goed, Gert, except I couldn't follow much of the 'Howzit' video. Know any instant Afrikaans to English to Strine subtitle systems? By the way, did you know that the rhino is a very rich animal, from the original 'rhinosorass', derived from 'rhino' meaning money and 'sorass' meaning piles, hence 'piles of money' . 🤣

Randall Burns I am your slow swimmer. In fact, when I speed it up I go backwards. Come on over and enjoy these waters!
