Jnr Maintenance Officer

Contract: Permanent

Main Purpose of the Position:

The effective maintenance and repair of machinery, buildings and equipment at OVK fibre storage.

• Grade 12 / N4 or higher technical qualification;
• Candidates with previous maintenance, mechanical and/or hydraulic experience will have preference;
• Good communication and language skills in Afrikaans and English (Xhosa would be an advantage);
• Valid driver's license and own reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures the execution of maintenance functions for machinery, buildings and equipment.
• Carries out regular equipment inspections and troubleshooting.
• Works within prescribed legislation, policies and procedures.
• Provides feedback to the Maintenance Officer on tasks, discusses availability of parts and equipment.
• Ensures compliance with health and safety, environment, quality and housekeeping in departments.
• Manages the administration and upkeep of assets.
