    Description

    Job Summary:

    To lead and direct the store operations team in order to meet sales, profit and compliance targets, resulting in a competitive advantage for the brand.

    Key Objectives:

    • To drive sales performance by tracking daily targets, weekly and monthly sales plans, and taking proactive action as required.
    • To efficiently manage all operational activities of the store, including expenses, stock management, shrinkage, housekeeping, and administration.
    • To successfully execute visual merchandising strategies that maintain in-store presentation and promotional standards, ensuring a brand-aligned appearance.
    • To build and maintain a competent and motivated workforce through effective leadership, management, and development.
    • To schedule staff according to the Group's labour policy and relevant labour model, ensuring each department is fully staffed.
    • To ensure administrative responsibilities are managed efficiently, including time and attendance records.
    • To implement customer service initiatives and take corrective action to achieve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • To foster strong relationships with stakeholders, such as centre managers, suppliers, and distribution centres.
    • To stay informed about customer trends, demographics, and needs, and monitor local competitors to capitalise on opportunities.
    • To promote a high-performing business culture that delivers employee affiliation, customer satisfaction, and shareholder value.

    Requirements:

    • Strong understanding of financial management principles and retail/FMCG background.
    • Knowledge of stock, cost, risk, and compliance management procedures.
    • Customer service excellence skills.
    • Labour legislation and IR practices knowledge.
    • Competency-based interviewing skills.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years' experience in a store management role within a retail/FMCG store operations environment.
    • Extensive people management experience of a large and diverse workforce.
    • Financial management experience (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios).

    Education:

    • Grade 12 (Maths 50% and English 50%).
    • B. Degree or Diploma (retail/finance management, pharmacy, or related).
