Minimum Requirements:


  • Minimum Grade 1
  • Valid driver's license
  • Be literate and functionally numerate
  • Preemployment medical required
  • Computer literate: Microsoft excel, word, outlook
  • Be punctual and precise
  • Good administrative capabilities

Physical Requirements:


  • This position can be labor intensive, required to lift heavy sample bags.
  • Will be assessed on vision and ability to distinguish between back up alarms, voices, and other normal sounds consistent with quarry sites.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The ability to do calculations and work with figures
  • A good knowledge of tests done in the lab according to the SANS 3001 testing methods
  • Must be able to interpret results as per COTO specifications
  • Must be able to function independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Be willing to work overtime including weekends as and when required
Be able to report on the test method completed and explain the results obtained
