PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Service Desk Agent is responsible for First line IT support, creating requests and incidents in accordance with expectations for the role, serving as the initial point of contact for customers and suppliers
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 1
- Relevant IT Certificate
- 13 years of experience in a call /help desk environment
- Previous experience in a customer support role
- Have the ability to work independently.
- MCSE or equivalent optional
- ITIL foundation certification optional
- SAP first line support knowledge optional
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supply first line IT support
- Executes tasks in order of importance
- Follow up on existing and outstanding tickets
- Ensure all outstanding open tickets are closed in time
- Managing all teams breaching tickets and escalate accordingly
- Work closely with resolver groups to ensure timely updates are sent to requester
- Logging of calls with outside suppliers / Business partners
- Assists the Service desk team to deliver technology support
- Respond to all customers within the SLA time frame in accordance to priority level
- Excellent communication skills in at least two official languages of which one must be English
Applicants must reside in Potchefstroom or Carletonville and have access to their own transportation. The Company is situated on the R501 Carletonville Road between Carletonville and Potchefstroom and there is no public transport available._
