Maternal, Adolescent & Child Health Institute NPC (MatCH), is a non-profit organisation supporting public sector health services.

MatCH implements donor funded projects to improve HIV and TB outcomes through providing technical assistance and direct service delivery support.

MatCH is looking to fill the following position under a project funded by THINK Tuberculosis and HIV Investigative Network RF NPC aimed to strengthen the health care delivery platform for TB in the Eastern Cape.

The position will be seconded to the Eastern Cape Department of Health at provincial level.

Eastern Cape Department of Health Head Office : Bisho (Eastern Cape Province)


Duration of Contract:
Fixed term contract ending 30 September 2023


Project Manager:
ACSM (Advocacy, communication, and social mobilisation)x 1 ( Ref 534)


Main purpose of the job


Coordinate and oversee the implementation of the ACSM strategies linked to the developed Business plan/Operational plan and monitoring and evaluation thereof.


Key performance areas

  • Facilitate the development of marketing and communication strategies for the TB program in the Eastern Cape Province.
  • Facilitate and support the implementation of marketing and communication strategies for TB program and initiatives at provincial, district level, inclusive of communities.
  • Coordinate partnerships with external structures to strengthen implementation of marketing and communication strategies.
  • Facilitate procurement of IEC (Information, Education and Communication) material for TB program and to ensure IEC material is developed in appropriate languages relevant to the population.
  • Work with relevant internal stakeholders (HIV, health promotion, communication directorates.
  • Report writing.
  • Perform other duties assigned by manager aligned to the role.

Required minimum education and training

  • Nursing/Public Health/relevant Social Science degree/diploma.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Professional Body registration

  • Registration with relevant Professional body of South Africa as required.

Minimum work experience

  • Minimum 3 years working experience in the public health sector.
  • 3 years' experience in a supervisory role.

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities

  • Certificate in communication/ public relations/ marketing will be an added
advantage.

  • Certificate in Health Promotion.
  • Sound knowledge of TB/HIV.
  • Experience monitoring and evaluation of healthrelated projects/programs.
  • Experience in preparation and analysis of work plans and reports (programmatic and financial).
  • Analytical and strategic thinker.
  • Basic knowledge of and experience in financial management and project management.
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) essential.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Able to work independently and work as part of a diverse and multi
- disciplinary
team.

  • Good attention to detail.
  • Regular travel to project sites will be required and working overtime may be required from time to time.
  • Able to multitask and work towards meeting deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
  • Available to commence work immediately
