Main Responsibilities:


  • Managing & developing the regions in terms of branch operations (service delivery), sales, systems, strategy, policy making & profitability;
  • Ensuring ON TIME and IN FULL delivery of 99% at every branch;
  • Manage Operational Costs versus Budget Cargo / Fleet / In-House / Admin Ops / Premium Fixed and achieve the set cost saving target;
  • Overseeing budgets and forecasts and managing cost to deliver set margins;
  • Optimise Android Usage Deliveries and Collections across all branches and ensure 98% usage in areas where deployed;
  • Ensuring sizing is done in accordance with operational requirements and Volume Hit ratio does not dip below 90%;
  • Manage Cell captive to achieve the set targets with the Commercial and Risk Executives;
  • Manage Call Centre function
  • Effectively manage the Owner Driver scheme and 3rd parties to optimise costs and margins;
  • Ensuring Branch meetings and reporting are done as stipulated;
  • Staying fully aware of all branch activities and especially deviations / nonconformances / problems and ensure actions plans are devised and implemented to resolve as a matter of urgency;
  • Manage late deliveries / undelivered as per set target d ensure appropriate actions are implemented to prevent future reoccurrence;
  • Ensure all branches comply to POD's being imaged within 24 hours of delivery
  • Communicate operational issues and solutions proactively to all branches to prevent occurrence of the same in other branches;
  • Ensuring that the regions are managed and maintained according to the Company's expectations in terms of set KPI'S;
  • Ensuring that good customer relations, high operating standards and service levels are maintained.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with SOP's;
  • Ensure full support to the SHEQ department by maintaining Quality Operating Procedure compliance and coordinating Branch Audits together with the SHEQ Department.
  • Mentoring of branch managers

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Relevant tertiary qualification;
-
Extensive knowledge of the courier / freight / logistics industry;:

  • Generalist operational management skills of minimum 10 years' experience in an operation with
    at least 10 branches nationally;

At least 3 years' experience serving on an Executive committee;

  • Proven ability to understand and interpret financial information;
  • Expert user in MS EXCEL;
  • Fluent in English
  • The ability to professionally manage, motivate & display individual leadership qualities;
  • Excellent delegation skills;
  • Ability to negotiate in tough circumstances;
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
  • Project management capabilities;
  • Strategic leadership capabilities;
  • Hands on individual;
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours (including weekends).

  • Clear criminal record
