Required Skills and Competencies
- Experience in formulating regional strategies and capacity-building work within member states and expert institutions.
- Ability to identify key strategic issues, opportunities, and risks.

- Ability to communicate links between the Organization's strategy and the Division's goals.
- Establish and maintain relationships with a broad range of people to understand needs and gain support.

- Strong knowledge and understanding of the African development dynamic, the African Union and AUDA-NEPAD.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead teams to deliver solutions and solve organisational challenges while drawing on global best practices in the discipline.
Education and Experience: - A Master's degree in Public Policy, International Relations, Management, Business Management, Gender Studies, Youth Empowerment, Education, Social Science, or a related field with ten (10) years of work experience in leading a function related to the management of capacity-building and technical assistance projects or a related area within the public sector, multilateral institutions, and international non-governmental or similar organizations nationally, regionally and/or internationally.
Or - A Bachelor's degree in the above-specified fields and twelve (12) years of work experience in leading a function related to the management of capacity-building and technical assistance projects or a related area of which five (5) years should be at a managerial level within the public sector, multilateral institutions, and international non-governmental or similar organizations nationally, regionally and/or internationally.
- Additionally, candidates must have at least ten (10) years of progressive experience in managing a team of professionals or consultants.
