    We are seeking an experienced Fruit Acquisition Specialist to join our growing team in Cape Town. This role requires expertise in grapes, citrus or deciduous procurement and a deep understanding of the fruit industry.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Purchasing high-quality grapes, deciduous and citrus fruit while applying their knowledge of fruit procurement to identify and source top-tier products.
    • Developing and maintaining relationships with new South African suppliers and farmers, leveraging their extensive network within the fruit industry.
    • Negotiating favorable terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement without compromising on quality.
    • Liaising with stakeholders across the supply chain, including suppliers, distributors, and business development managers, to effectively communicate key information.
    • Staying up-to-date with market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory requirements in the fruit export sector.
    • Collaborating with quality control teams to ensure all procured fruits meet stringent quality standards.
    • Oversseeing the logistics of procurement, ensuring timely delivery of goods and maintaining optimal inventory levels.

    This role requires someone with:

    • Expertise in fruit procurement, with at least 5 years of experience in grapes, citrus or deciduous buying.
    • Extensive knowledge of fruit seasonality, quality standards, local South African and international fruit growers and packhouses.
    • Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers and optimize procurement costs.
    • Proficiency in export processes and regulations related to the fruit trade.
    • A wide network within the fruit industry, including suppliers, distributors, and other stakeholders.

    The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong passion for the fruit industry. The salary for this position will be market-related and dependent on experience.
