Claims Administrator - CSA
A position for a Claims Administrator exists at the Claims Department, reporting to the Claims Manager.

The overall purpose of this position is to ensure contract retention whilst simultaneously mitigating the costs of vicarious claims action, to control reputational risk associated with vicarious liability claim action, to protect the general interests of the company.

Contribute to all growth and profitability of the company by providing excellent service and maintaining relationships.


Qualifications, experience and other competencies required:

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent admin and interpersonal skills.
  • 2 years motor vehicle accident/ liability claims experience would be an advantage.

Key areas of responsibility:
(Not totally inclusive)


  • The receiving of liability and motor vehicle claims matters and related files for best attention
  • The review of file content to establish what is still required in order to process.
  • Forward correspondence to branch requesting all required documents and information.
  • Forward correspondence to clients/claimants requesting further documents and information through means of a discovery letter.
  • Forward request to legal for contract information and/or copies of contract.
  • Forward request to billing/ credit control for WTR Report and monies being withheld
  • Update ICBM claims management system
  • Process file by isolating merits, with a view toward establishing liability.
  • Whether telephonically or in person discuss with clients further document requirements.
  • Draw up liability authorization request documents.
  • Arrange meetings with directors as prescribed by limits of authority directive, in order to obtain further instructions.
  • Present to and discuss with directors claim details in order to obtain further instructions and authorization to proceed.
  • Forward correspondence reflecting the respective decisions of directors to settle, part settle or reject claims.
  • Update date ICMB and GreenFleet claims management system accordingly in order to provide accurate claims data.
  • Obtain acceptance of terms and conditions of settlement from client/claimant.
  • Create cheque payment request and submit to finance department to process payment.
  • Ensure claimants or third parties banking details are received and supplied to the necessary finance persons.
  • Send out final correspondence by means of settlement letter, release form and /or copy of deposit slip which will act as proof of payment.
  • Close files on ICBM and GreenFleet claims management systems.
  • Hand over file for back filing.
  • If claim is rejected obtain written reasons for rejection and resubmit for management review.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of the ICBM and GreenFleet claims systems.
  • Access and handle all motor vehicle claim from third parties
  • Access and handle all recovery matters for motor vehicle claims (from third parties)
  • General Adhoc duties as per the claims department as and when required.
