Overview:

The Business Manager to the MD of Manufacturing is responsible for assisting the MD of Manufacturing and Fertilizer executive team to manage and deliver on complex strategic projects in fulfillment of the business's objectives


Qualifications:


  • Chartered Accountant or Master's Degree in Business Administration or Chemical Engineering qualification

Experience:


  • 2+ years' experience working with Board and Executive level
  • Proven track record of effectively interacting with senior management
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments
  • Effective, versatile and actionoriented
  • Excellent communication skills, inclusive of written English
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to gather data, process and compile information, and prepare reports
  • Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects
  • Superior research, writing, and oral communication
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit correspondence and other written materials
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
  • Experience with data analysis

Duties:


Provides direct support to the MD of Manufacturing

  • Participates in program management for the MD of Manufacturing, which involves duties on a weekly, monthly and ad hoc basis
  • Organises and gathers information from various departments and meetings and reports that information, along with recommendations, to executive members in the required format
  • Coordinates and directs communication for the MD of Manufacturing by filtering only the most essential communication and controlling meeting schedules where required
  • Strategically manages the MD of Manufacturing's time through looking at the longterm travel calendar, evaluating opportunities and determining fit with priorities
  • Participates in meeting preparations and follows up by reviewing upcoming meetings for the week to ensure all the necessary information is received as well as sending out agendas or documents to meeting attendees as necessary for meetings arranged
  • Reviews internal and external communications by drafting reports, speeches or presentations for the MD of Manufacturing. Research, write, edit and/or coordinate preparation of special reports, briefings and presentations as required by the MD of Manufacturing
  • Monitors information flow by acting as a gatekeeper, ensuring the MD of Manufacturing's involvement in a project or decisionmaking process at the right moment
  • Acts as a representative of the chief executive officer
  • Assists the MD of Manufacturing by identifying new potential projects and initiatives which complement the strategic alignment of the business and determine their technical and financial feasibility

Strategic Planning

  • Coordinates and participates in strategic initiatives by leading, executing and reporting results back to the MD of Manufacturing
  • Leads the annual strategic planning process for the company by acting as a project manager and ensuring alignment with the MD of Manufacturing and leadership team.
  • Creates and updates dashboards for reviewing key performance indicators

Project Management

  • Overseeing large, often crossfunctional organizationwide projects or initiatives.
  • Brings together multiple stakeholders and helps drive decisionmaking
  • Researching, benchmarking, analyzing data, and making recommendations
  • Participates in systems and processes to streamline operations

Office of the MD of Manufacturing's Management

  • Provide leadership and effective management in all areas of staffing and personnel, administration, project completion

Other duties

  • Keeps up with industry trends by reading literature and communicating with peers
