    Clinical Nurses play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services. As a Nursing Unit Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the unit to achieve these objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Ensure Comprehensive Patient Care: Identify and mitigate potential risks to patients, adhering to clinical quality standards and protocols.
    2. Manage Patient Experience: Foster a positive and safe environment for patients, incorporating feedback from staff and patients to continuously improve services.
    3. Staff Management: Optimize staffing levels, skills mix, and resource utilization to meet the needs of patients and ensure effective use of resources.
    4. Staff Development: Facilitate continuous professional development, empowering staff with the necessary skills and competencies to provide exceptional patient care.
    5. Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with the team to manage operational expenses, including stock and capital expenditure, while maintaining high standards of patient care.

    Education Requirements:

    • Essential: A degree or diploma in General Nursing is mandatory.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Midwifery certification.
    • Postgraduate certificate or diploma in a specialty area.

    Work Experience:

    • Essential: At least 3 years of post-qualification experience as a Registered Nurse.

    Key Skills and Knowledge:

    • Pharmacology principles.
    • Effective nursing record keeping practices.
    • Comprehensive understanding of nursing processes and procedures.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy.
    • Knowledge of relevant nursing legislation and regulations.

    • Audit and analysis of patient records.
    • Patient assessment and care planning skills.
    • Scope of practice knowledge for nurse practitioners.
    • Specialized wards require ACLS, ATLS, and PALS training.
    • Risk identification and mitigation strategies.
    • Analytical and interpretation skills.
    • Basic life support training.
    • Mentorship and coaching abilities.
