    Job Overview:

    We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Sales Manager to lead our sales team in the Gauteng, Great North area, and parts of the Northwest. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FMCG retail and be able to effectively manage and motivate Sales Agents and Distributors.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Store Management: Manage Retail Agents and visit retail outlets to ensure stock is properly packed, counts are accurate, and PI labels are correctly displayed.
    • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any issues in stores, being hands-on and willing to assist with shelf packing when necessary.
    • Sales Target Achievement: Achieve and manage sales targets, gross profit, and budgets.
    • Automated Ordering Systems: Oversee automated ordering systems.
    • Client Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, ensuring product visibility and sales target achievement.
    • New Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities within the retail and independent channels.
    • Regular Meetings: Conduct monthly meetings with agents and representatives.
    • Country Trips: Be prepared for country trips as required, spending time away from home when necessary.

    Requirements:

    • Qualification: Grade 12 qualification.
    • Tertiary Education: Tertiary education in Sales & Marketing is beneficial.
    • FMCG Experience: Extensive experience in FMCG retail, with a history of calling on retail stores. Experience with SPAR is a bonus.
    • Regional Role Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in a regional FMCG role.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Advanced Excel.
    • Courses: Courses in negotiation, sales management, and key account management are advantageous.
    • Driver's Licence: Valid driver's licence.
