Job purpose
- Administrative support to Tax Partner.
- To continually assist and ensure that the clients receive excellent tax service and thus building and maintaining relationships that support the PKF Octagon culture and value.
- To provide tax support services to the Tax Department on compliance matters as and when they arise.
To provide any other administrative functions as and when they arise.
Main responsibilities
- Create Tax Ware provisional reports monthly to Staff, Managers and Partners
- Print Tax Ware report for Taxable income/payable variances per Partner and discuss with staff (biweekly)
- Create Tax Ware report for "Annual outstanding returns" and distribute to staff responsible
- Request for reasons letters to SARS (by Staff instruction)
- Deregistration with SARS by virtual appointment(s) portal
- Public Officer/registered Representative details update with SARS (collate information from client/staff follow through with SARS update RAV01)
- Client take on/deletion form management
- Engagement letters
- Monthly Statistics report for Tax Manco.
- Advisory billings report and report to Partner groups.
- Manage all update of client deletions and update of Taxware thereafter.
- Handling of virtual SARS appointments and Tax Clearance certificates when necessary.
Provide support / assistance
- Provide assistance in the Tax Department by way of monthly reports generated from Taxware.
- Provide ongoing support and administrative function to the Department Head, Partners and Managers as and when required e.g. filing, faxing, photocopying, scanning, retrieving files etc.
- Assist with Payments/refunds due reports
- Completing of VAT Nil returns
- Completing of Income tax returns on occasion
- Uploading of Supporting documents on SARS efiling when requested.
- On an adhoc basis, participate in relief switchboard duties as and when required.
- Stationery orders
- Stationery reports
- Comply with all reasonable and lawful instructions given by the OSH Team with regards to the Occupational Safety and Health of the Company.

- Processing of work in an accurate and timeous manner.
- Communication to all stakeholders in the Tax Department.
- Good attitude towards work.
Knowledge competencies
- Must be computer literate, must know specifically Tax Ware and SARS efiling.
- Preferably to understand tax legislation and tax updates from an administrative perspective
