Description

We are seeking a Material Planner for a permanent role based in East London, Eastern Cape

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

Diploma / Degree from a recognized institution in SCM or Industrial Engineering
3+ years material planning experience in automotive industry
Computer skills: SAP MM & MS Office
Excellent command of English written and verbal
Strong analytical / risks assessment / problem solving skills
Able to work independently and structure own job requirements
Basic knowledge of AutoCad or equivalent advantageous

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

Ensuring the correct stock levels of components at all times within set parameters
Taking full responsibility for the continuous planning, followup, expediting and controlling of components on order and in transit, until receipt inplant and assembled into finished products
Ensuring the continuous supply of JIT/JIS components for 3shift production in the right quantity, at the right time, to the right place and without incurring excess costs
Coordination of engineering changes for runout and runin components or projects
Control and minimization of (potential) obsolescence
Control and minimization of (potential) excess freight and related costs
Support in the implementation of logistics concepts and projects
Liaison with local and overseas suppliers and service providers

Salary:
Market related dependent on experience
