Job description
Create, implement, and manage operational strategy for a leading logistics solutions business.
Manage general cargo, bulk, container stack, transport services, internal and external warehousing facilities, planning and operations, reporting to the GM.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years experience in senior management capacity, and strong experience in port operations with a strategic view on various business models and cargo handling methods.
- Budgeting at senior management level.
- Warehousing, transport, and depot management.
- Stevedoring experience (breakbulk and citrus) is a pre-requisite.
- Bulk handling would be advantageous.
- Sound knowledge of perishables (citrus handling experience) and general cargo protocols.
- Relevant tertiary qualification a strong advantage
- Exposure to contract management of operational service providers including labour.

Key Performance Areas
- Plan and manage operations of general cargo and citrus shipments.
- Manage the documentation process.
- Manage and control multiple warehouse operations.
- Manage vessel planning activities in conjunction with Logistics Manager.
- Manage and control of warehouse, quayside (bulk and breakbulk), container operations and onboard stevedoring
- Manage negotiate and control contracts and activities of Service Providers.
- Adhere to and manage labour and service providers cost budgets.
- Compile annual and five-year budgets for all operational services.
- Manage customer interface and accounts.
- Manage, control, and enable contracted personnel.
