    Description

    To evaluate and present applications for funding and structuring deals that contribute towards SBU objectives and industry development goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Evaluate complex financial, technical, and marketing due diligence functions.
    • Lead due diligence teams to ensure risk identification and mitigation.

    Qualification Requirements:

    • Relevant commercial or technical Honours Degree or equivalent qualification.

    Financial/Shareholder Returns

    • Evaluate and structure transactions with detailed application of the company's financing instruments.
    • Ensure financial soundness of all credit submissions.

    Internal/Operational Processes

    • Evaluate applications for finance in various disciplines.
    • Deal structuring: designing and negotiating financial and legal relationships between clients and the organization.
    • Risk identification and mitigation.
    • Leading due diligence teams on high-value and complex transactions.
    • Deal optimization: ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and contributing to industry development goals.
    • Supporting the development and implementation of strategies to drive SBU objectives.
    • Account management up to first draw.
    • Preparing reports for presentation to relevant committees.
    • Conducting peer reviews on due diligence disciplines.
    • Training, mentoring, and coaching Business Analysts and Dealmakers.

    Customer Focus/Stakeholder Management

    • Interacting with SBUs and departments to fulfill process requirements.
    • Managing and enhancing service levels to ensure client service excellence.

    Learning, Leadership/People Growth

    • Providing team leadership in transactions during due diligence.
    • Managing own development to enhance competencies.
    • Participating in knowledge sharing and coaching/mentoring team members.

    Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

    • 8-10 years related experience, with 8 years in deal assessment and closing transactions.
    • Declared competent in three due diligence disciplines (Marketing, Technical, Financial).
    • Grounded in all three disciplines.
    • Transaction leadership in complex deals.
    • Knowledge in assessing associated issues in a transaction.
    • Experience in peer review, interpretation, and analysis of financial statements.
    • Knowledge of market environment and technology landscape.
    • Knowledge of financing instruments.
